Self-indulgence is a big problem for this band. I'm pretty sure I could cut The White Album to like 9 songs. 9 fantastic songs at that mind you.

I have digested The White Album a lot more and have taken a look at some of the other albums. I enjoy this band. Very good people.

Be honest with me, Durden. What do you think are the most outrageous omissions on my list?

That’s legit. I like all those songs. Also Why Don’t We Do It in the Road? That is a fun song.

Came upon this a week ago or so as I journey through the Dead and Jerry’s career.

Especially starting at the 5:30 mark, Jerry takes Dear Prudence to the heavens and back. I have always loved the song but never appreciated it enough until I heard Jerry explore its signatures like this... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sRWNWpEuvMw

Dear Prudence is on my list!

I like part of Rocky Raccoon but find the beginning cringey.
Blackbird is boring.
Glass Onion is novel but I don't think it's a good song.

I will take a second look at Sexy Sadie and Mother Nature's Son.

Probably the most hateable song on the album.

To my mind, there are two White Albums that live alongside each other: one is cutesy and surreal, the other is dark and desperate. Yer Blues is the song that has a foot solidly in both camps holding them all together
