Re: Next-Gen Consoles (Coming 2020-ish)
DualSense Impressions (without playing a PS5 game)
- heavier than the DS4, feels more premium
- two tone plastic matches the design language of the console itself
- the white part has a nice texture to it that will surely help with grip, it overlaps slightly with the black part which suggests how to hold it
- the face buttons are not as loud when pressed as previous PS controllers
- the analog sticks have a texture to them as well
- touchpad is very smooth
- raised Options and Share button, so you can easily find them with a brush of the finger
Can't wait to try out all the bells and whistles on an actual PS5 game next week.

2+ years later, I can rarely find the options button on the first try on my PS4 controller.Monkey_Driven wrote:DualSense Impressions (without playing a PS5 game)

Credit card has been charged through Sony. I'm sure shipping is soon.

My tracking screen was updated to say, "per shipper instructions, package will not be delivered until the scheduled delivery date."

I'm going to have nightmares on how many times it'll be hit by a forklift over the next 4 days.

Kotaku's PS5 review ended with a bit about another white guy in office as President and the state of the world.

My PS5 shipping window from Target is November 13 to 18.

Miles Morales only being 8.5 hours has me more excited for it.

~10 hour masterpieces are where it's at. A lot of games hit a point of padding/tedium around the 15 hour mark that really don't need to.

Re: Next-Gen Consoles (Coming 2020-ish)
Yeah I think the Miles Morales is more like a Lost Legacy; somewhat of an expansion to the original game rather than a full on sequel.
Rockstar indicated backwards compatibility for most of their games, though doesn't sound like any kind of next-gen enhancements are planned (not yet anyway) for RDR2 which is a bummer. I already know GTAV is getting a revamp, bleeding that fucker dry.
It's been strangely quiet on the Naughty Dog front; I'm hoping they have an announcement in store soon for TLOU2 Factions with maybe some next-gen upgrades for the single player story. The game looks flawless as it so aside from reduced load times and maybe a better frame rate I'm curious to know what their plans are.

Re: Next-Gen Consoles (Coming 2020-ish)
Just a heads-up:
Space may be at a premium on PlayStation 5, but you won't be able to rely on an external drive in order to store your PS5 games. While it was expected that you would need PS5 games to be installed to the internal NVMe SSD in order to play them, you can't even temporarily store them on an external drive to free up space on the internal drive.
