The negativity on this site sucks!
PJ from 91-2003 is not going to walk through that door...
Getaway has me as close to that era as possible. BTW

The people who don't like the song are talking about not liking the song.Komatoasted wrote:Komatoasted wrote:The negativity on this site sucks!

Maybe you should talk about liking the song rather than talking about not liking people.

Re: Lightning Bolt - October 15
Some 10th record by peers and inspirators for this band:
Red Hot Chili Peppers: Im With You
REM: New Adventures in Hi-Fi
U2: All that you can't leave behind
Springsteen: Lucky town
The Who: It's Hard
Neil Young: Comes A Time
Sonic Youth: A thousand Leaves
Too bad they are inspired by U2 and Springsteen nowadays...they should have been inspired by Neil Young and REM at this stage in their career....

ATYCLB is heralded by many as U2's big return to classic form.
I can't speak for the Bruce record.
But I'm not really hearing either of those on these songs. Bruce a little bit on future days but that's all.

Sirens is absolutely more comparable to Floyd than Springsteen or U2. Of course everyone who adores Floyd and hates this song is going to disagree.

Re: Lightning Bolt - October 15
I think this perceived negativity is a load of bollocks. When people like something they are just as passionate. MYM got a lot of great feedback on here when it first was released because people like it. Sirens didn't get a positive response because a lot of people don't seem to like it. It seems the casual visitor to the site who reads an opinion that the states a dislike for a song they might think is good is automatically just brushed off as negativity when in fact most people offer reasonable critique as to what they don't like about the song.McParadigm wrote:The people who don't like the song are talking about not liking the song.Komatoasted wrote:Komatoasted wrote:The negativity on this site sucks!

Re: Lightning Bolt - October 15
The 10th Red Hot Chili Peppers album is pretty damn good. It's of the caliber of all their previous albums even with a new guitarist.
I was actually thinking about this, but RHCP's albums are FULL OF HITS and there's an average of like 16-18 songs on each album. Stadium Arcadium is a 28 song double album, and every song is pretty damn good. I remember hating Avocado at the time cause Stadium Arcadium had just come out I loved it and it was a massive a double album. PJ seems to take years to barely squeak out 12 songs.

Stadium Arcadium sold more than the last 4 PJ albums combined

Re: Lightning Bolt - October 15
But it was boring as hell. So even if you hate this PJ music, RHCP only wins commercially. Yay!
