I've seen at least 3 articles (opinion pieces) about how awful the baby yoda eating those eggs was. They were unfertilized animal eggs. What do these people think they are doing when they eat chicken eggs? I bet the authors were vegans if they were actually upset about this.

This episode is what I most like about Star Wars. There is the world, the iconography that makes it Star Wars, but it didn't feel forced or overbearing. That stuff just exists in this world.

There is also the morality storytelling (the good v bad and in between) along with the adventure serial storytelling. This is the stuff that resonates with me.

As I said before it gave us all of that touchtone/blueprint stuff but also expanded things (a new planet, different species, new creatures, how different lives in the galaxy live/operate day to day) without relying on needing to flex fandom muscles or tickle deep sea easter egg hunters.

This was far less J-Favs sandbox-action-figure-fan-fiction and more Lucas/Filoni style of galactic adventure/morality for kids Star Wars storytelling. At least, that's how it hit me.

It was troubling for me. But only on the a purely survivalist level. Those are the last eggs she'll ever lay. What if not all of them can be properly fertilized? What if some die before hatching? There was tension in it for insofar as I wanted her to have as many offspring as possible to further her line.

I certainly wasn't offended by the act of The Child eating unfertilized eggs.

It's fascinating how differently we see this show. This episode felt like an "excuse to revisit X-Wings" to you but the majority of this series doesn't feel like an excuse to revisit ____ . I'm the exact opposite.

I thought this was a great episode. Character based. Good conflict. Expanded the universe a bit. We met new creatures/characters. There wasn't any of that sandbox nostalgia reliance that can really cripple this thing for me. Excellent pacing. Good tension/mood. Great FVX (which isn't always the case with this show). I felt connected to the people in a way that made the mission vital for me. It felt less like a video game side mission than usual.

To each their own, obviously. And I'll love you forever now matter what. Maybe that's a strength of the show, really. Something for everyone. Never a bad thing especially when it doesn't feel particularly pandering to the widest audience. It just happens to appeal to many Star Wars fans on different levels for different reasons.

It's the biggest question in canon right now. But I trust they'll have a good answer. Filoni & Co. handled Ahsoka's "absence" from the movies really, really well.

All we know is that when Ahsoka entered the empty temple she embarked on a spiritual journey that changed the rest of her life. That's it. And while those materials are canon, most people probably don't know about them.

My point being that I'm worried about how they're going to handle The Child and its connection to the ST. So far, the only thing they've been able to come up with for most of these characters is "they were off somewhere else." Ezra is riding a space whale in unknown space. Ahsoka was walking in a river of light all the way to an undefined spiritual journey only to come back after the Galactic Civil War.

Hopefully, they do something more interesting with The Child.
