I looked a bit through this thread and there's a pic of Biden and Harris on a videoconference with their task force. So refreshing.

But they probably didn't get much done. I bet most of the time was spent with "you're on mute"

9 teachers out at my school (we are bringing groups of kids in 1 day a week to keep cohorts small and separate). My co-teacher is positive so I am out for two weeks. The hard part for the school is covering for all of the teachers out with covid or on quarentine.

Sorry to hear that. Where I am they just set a tentative return to school data of mid-January, but made the health metrics thresholds so stringent there is little chance of hitting them. So now all the parents (+200k enrolled students) have to decide what to do about childcare on the albeit slim chance their kids go back. Seems better to just say 'no school in 1H2021'.

I mean, I guess you can give it a shot, but don't you think you should throw in at least one Republican politician who barely passed biology at a state college like 50 years ago?

What’s the point of looking at the country as a whole when it’s current leadership is not involved in any universal guidance, assistance, or enforcement of any meaningful mitigation efforts?

Lots of people have said wear a mask at the federal level. People are either going to decide to comply or they won't. Do you expect the national guard to be deployed on the streets enforcing mask compliance? Where the federal government has actually failed is leaving any relief legislation in gridlock because every single one of our leaders are just partisan hacks at the end of the day.

And then they get together and party without any masks and spread a bunch of covid, leaving it up to us plebs to beat the virus. Solid messaging!

The global collapse following the super effective lockdowns will also make millennials want to have kids even less than they already did.

What do you do about it though? Make it a NaTIonAl MAnDatE? People will either listen or not listen. Daddy government doesn't influence what people will ultimately decided on the matter.

You start by getting away from politicizing it, and back towards it being a simple measure that’s been scientifically proven to curb the virus spread.

Some people don't care one way or the other though. You aren't going to motivate them with Post Malone or someone clicking through a powerpoint on mask efficacy.

It's probably much higher and we should probably just stop counting altogether. It's pointless.
