Was it about Emmy integrity when Trump said they rigged it against The Apprentice?macphisto wrote:I'm all about election integrity.
Was it about election integrity when Trump said some of the 2016 primaries were rigged against him?
Was it about election integrity when Trump tried to pretend that he got more total votes than Hilary in 2016?
Was it about integrity all those other times he ignored reality so he could claim to be a winner in some situation?
Why on earth would you give him and his flunkeys any credibility about something like this?

Sure, but that doesn’t mean it’s the right thing to do. The potential damage of dragging our democratic process through the mud and causing chaos at the highest levels of government during a critical time for our country is completely disproportionate to the insanely low chances that any fraud found would overturn ballot margins into the tens of thousands. It’s completely ridiculous.Bi_3 wrote:My understanding is that what they are doing is legal. Shitty and pathetic, but legal.

It's not that they're looking into it. Fine, whatever, make sure everything is kosher. Thats not what they are doing. They are sowing distrust, have given no actual proof, and are doing this to absolutely steal an election.spike wrote:Sure, but that doesn’t mean it’s the right thing to do. I do wonder if it would be better if the country just ignored it.

I think a big part of this is just Trump wanting to fundraise off these lawsuits.

I can't say I'm in the least surprised by Trump's reaction to the election. What does surprise me however is the number of republicans sticking with the sinking ship and pushing with this rigged election narrative instead of trying to protect their own legacy and distance themselves from the crazy-man

Re: Election 2020
By this point in 2016 Hillary Clinton had conceded the election and Joe Biden had met with Mike Pence in the White House to discuss transition details. Obama had ordered the personnel office to cease vetting appointees for all departments, and the budget office to await Donald Trump’s guidance. None of those things have happened here, and nobody expects them to happen in the next few weeks.BurtReynolds wrote:Lol it's like no one remembers four years ago.
But you’re right, it is amusing to imagine what the response would have been if Hillary had flatly refused to concede, the Democratic Party had gone along with it, and John Kerry had responded to questions by joking that there would be “a peaceful transition to a Hillary Clinton White House,” then storming off while refusing to say what guidance he was giving his department.
