Three confirmed cases of community transmission here today, our first since April.

Worker at iso-hotel spread it to family members, at least that's how it's looking.

I love all these officials saying Thanksgiving and Christmas are gonna be cancelled, as though they have even the slightest chance of enforcing this stuff.

In US, 20-25 million can be vaccinated a month.

Available to general pop by April.

After frontliners and high riskers, who should get the vaccine next?

I'm not doing anything. Maybe I'll make a frozen pizza and put some mac and cheese on top of it?

17 new cases today (all linked to the initial three), more expected.

Source is members of a large family who have continued to work across the city while sick and infected. *

Police Commissioner has flagged potential lockdown if things get worse.

Week off to a great start!

* I will try to refrain from comments herein that would see me permanently cancelled.

sheesh always gotta be something

https://nypost.com/2020/11/14/pfizer-co ... ic-buying/
Hospitals, states and cities across the country are panic-buying freezers to store Pfizer’s coronavirus vaccine, which requires ultra-cold temperatures for storage, even as the Centers for Disease Control cautioned them to hold off.

The scramble comes amid news from the drug giant that the new vaccine requires storage at temperatures of minus 94 degrees Fahrenheit, which is far below the standard for other vaccines that require temperatures of between minus 36-46 degrees Fahrenheit, according to a report.

Some freezer makers are already warning of long waits for the specialized units.

In August, the CDC urged health care providers not to purchase the ultra low temperature (ULT) freezers, saying it was working on solutions for Pfizer’s “very complex storage and handling requirements,” according to Reuters. A CDC spokeswoman said last week that the first vaccine doses will likely be parceled out in limited quantities and used immediately, reducing the necessity of storage in the ultra low temperature freezers.

are there trucks that can drive cargo around at -94 degrees?

how does one carry something from a truck that is -94 degrees into a doctor's office?

will this requirement spur an increase in google searches regarding the acapella group 98 Degrees?

is it OK if after a few 98 Degrees image searches I feel like whacking off?

should i feel shame afterward or relief?

when i am hungry, who will feed me?

when i am naked, who will clothe me?

what is god?

where is time?

how far is space?

does Guam?

This is actually what I do ...

Vaccine comes in a 50lb shipper that can maintain the temps for 10 days with dry ice, longer if you replace the dry ice with more dry ice pellets (no idea where you get those), but basically it's a box in a box with dry ice between the two and on top.

Inside that box you can put up to 5 "pizza boxes" that hold 1000 doses each. So, every state has been scrambling to find places that have ultra cold freezers, but you can also ship this stuff to any place that can vaccinate 1000 people in 10 days and they can just stick the shipper wherever they want.

You can only open the damned thing 2X per day for 1 minute each, but the vaccine's still viable for a day in the refrigerator. So, you basically estimate what you're going to use in the morning and move that into the refrigerator and throw out whatever you don't use at the end of the day.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

I can answer more questions. I've basically logged a gazillion hours of conference calls on that fucking ultra low vaccine.
