Unless it has dawned on him that his tweets can predictably alter the stock market... which gives some in debt an interesting way out.
Well this is something I said 4 years ago. Early in his presidency and a few times along the way this was something I've thought about and been suspicious of.

At this point I'm extremely hesitant to ever assign any motive to his texts that are logical, even if self-serving, because then we get into that territory of alternating between "he's an idiot" and "he's an evil genius" that I find particularly annoying. So at this point I'm assigning it to stupidity, but if evidence came out about his presidency being one massive pump and dump scheme I'm open to that being possible.

Didn't know where else to put this, but I was a bit flummoxed by a convo I had with a guy at the coffee shop today. The topic was those dockless scooters.

Here in this neighborhood plenty of brick and mortar startups centered around these scooters are popping up. People are riding them everywhere. Surely a lot of these businesses will fail, given supply and demand, but I wager that if this scooter trend sticks around, the well-run ones will grow.

Now, contrast that with the dockless model that is starting to be outlawed in multiple cities. Austin specifically comes to mind. At one point in time, you couldn't walk anywhere without nearly tripping over one. Some were in ditches. Some in the river. Etc.

So I brought up how much better I think a brick-and-mortar model is, especially in a sprawling city like ours where you couldn't go far on one even if you wanted to, and this guy keeps harping on the idea that the dockless model has waste built in to their profit margins.

So what? Even if that is true (which seems like bad business), I can't fathom how much the unintended impact of these scooters literally everywhere is on the greater environment and economy. It just seems like such a slog that way, on so many levels.
