There is absolutely no amount of cheese in Sirens greater than the cheese spewed by BoB's keyboard on Future Days at Wrigley.

Was that trying to be a compliment?

Yeah, I tried. Basically I feel Sirens is far more interesting than Future Days, for lack of a better word. That, and I still can't stand the version of FD at Wrigley.

It's horrible. I think there's a nice song underneath and the studio version will hopefully show it off, but playing it live at Wrigley with BO'B was one of the worst decisions this band has ever made. Except for maybe re-hiring BO'B in the first place.

I'm holding out hope for the album version. Trying to remain somewhat optimistic about SBM, too, even though it's inclusion still mystifies me.

from the sounds of it, SBM isnt much different then the uke version, so we already know what to expect, and im pretty ok with it now, it may not fit the album but it is what it is

Yeah I enjoyed the Uke version, sounds like (from the listening party reviews) there's a bit more of a positive vibe to it, though. I've decided not to concern myself over what "fits" on LB anymore after listening to Sirens. Sounds like this one may be all over the map, and honestly that's kind of exciting.

I just realized my major disappointment with the album. I look at Pearl Jam as my favorite ROCK band. I'm the guy that gets in the car and blasts Habit, Hail Hail, DTE, Last Exit, Grievance, Go at a very high volume. It's what I love most about them. All their other stuff is wonderful to me as long as I have some hard stuff to go along with it. With this album, we got ZERO hard rock songs. I love MYM, but it's more of a fun punk song to me. Getaway is nowhere near hard, even though I like the song.

So now we have not gotten a true hard rock song since S/T where we got some gems in Life Wasted and Severed Hand. GSMF and Got Some maybe tried, but were all New Wavey in the end. So I've been waiting for 7 years for a hard song , but they didn't have it in them. They made the album they wanted to make , but I can't say it doesn't disappoint me to not get at least ONE true rock moment on an album full of mid tempo songs.

I was going to mention Of The Earth. It wouldn't quite satisfy my itch for a hard song, but it would definitely be worth cranking up the volume for and help ease the pain.

Since nothing ever really "happens" with this song... I really dont get why its so long. I think it would be fine 2 minutes shorter. But I think this song will be a "halfway skip" for me. After listening to about half of it... its like.. ok i got it. I'm good. on to next song. So its not a total skip.. its a halfway skip.

I cant imagine what it will be like burning 6 minutes listening to this live. they better pick up the pace. Like double speed

It's as long as it is because it takes that long for it to be amazing, provided you've already done the prerequisite listen-nine-times-in-a-row legwork and recognized that it's amazing.

Once there, though, it's not too long at all, and I wish it went on longer.

Avacodo was awesome. Love the harder stuff... what you mentioned and Comatose.. Loved the Marker in the Sand and the Beatlesesque Parachutes. This makes me nervous. i have not heard any leaks other than sirens. I do love Lightening bolt from Wrigley thougso hopeing im into the studio version.
