Re: TV: Better Call Saul
I haven't seen much in three way of slow character arc either so far. In fact, I kinda wish they'd slow down in that regard a bit.Jorge wrote:Basically this. I think it takes its time with the overall arc, which goes along with the show's whole thing about the gradual nature of change. I understand this can be frustrating for someone who is waiting for him to become the character from Breaking Bad. But the episodes themselves don't really feel slow to me. That said, this is also a show that had a minute-and-a-half long shot of an elderly woman ramping down a staircase and walking to her couch.lennytheweedwhacker wrote:i feel like the episodes are paced well and don't drag or fly by...but the plot developments are a bit of a slow burn
But I'm also not frustrated by any of the things you describe above. I think this show is excellent and as I'm already enjoying it more than BB.
I just had different expectations. And that's okay.

Nope. I'm only in S2 and I think it's better.wease wrote:Hell no, you're not!VinylGuy wrote:nope. I consider it to be a way better show than BB.lowlight79 wrote:Am I the only that thinks this is a better show than breaking bad?
There's no single performance in this as good as Cranston's in BB. But the show overall is better. The look of fantastic. It's such a prettier and more dynamic show visually.

The fawning Kim simps are priming Joe to start hating the character

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Re: TV: Better Call Saul
The first episode of S3 is the most Breaking Bad-y episode of this thing so far.
Also something else about the filming looks different. It's brighter or sharper than the previous season. Or something.
I love how each season (so far) starts with the flashforward (I'm guessing?) or whatever that timeframe is. The black and white stuff. That's a great hook.
Finally, another KC Royals sighting!

Yeah, the b&w stuff is post-BB. That's apparently the life that Robert Forster the vacuum repair guy created for him.

That's what I figured. But I remember LostThe Argonaut wrote:Yeah, the b&w stuff is post-BB. That's apparently the life that Robert Forster the vacuum repair guy created for him.
Didn't want to exclude some possible twist there.
