Young Master Skywalker is alive & well at our current point in the timeline. A mere mention sets off ridiculous fan expectation/anticipation.

For what it's worth, I don't care to see any Jedi in the show, personally, but, for reference, Kanan Jarrus was a previously unknown survivor of Order 66, for those who say that introducing a new Jedi to the story would be an impossibility.
