Ewan McGregor talks upcoming 'Obi-Wan' Disney+ series on 'Graham Norton'
Although it's still a long time to go and it's far, far away from hitting our screens, all anyone can talk about when it comes to Ewan McGregor is the eagerly-awaited 'Obi-Wan' series.
After years - literally, years - of denying that he was returning to the character, McGregor confirmed the news around this time last year, with production obviously held up due to both issues with the pandemic, and some of the scripts on the show itself.
Not surprisingly, the show came up on 'Graham Norton' last night, which in-studio guest and uber 'Star Wars' nerd Frank Skinner took no time in pointing out - jokingly, of course - that by the time it's out, McGregor will nearly be around the same age as Alec Guinness.
All in all, McGregor was certainly coy about talking about the specifics of the show, and didn't even get into how much he was in the show. "Well, it's not all me, but it's... certainly a lot of me, which is good, I suppose," he joked, adding that the show is confirmed to begin shooting in March of next year.
McGregor also talked about original Alec Guinness' legacy and his earlier movies, all of which he researched in order to be better able to play a much younger version of the character in the prequel trilogy.

It will be interesting to see his Obi-Wan under a different director. While he was one of the better actors during the prequels, it still felt a bit wooden or boring at times.

I think he meant there will be other characters; not just a series of solo monologues by Ewan.VinylGuy wrote:i dont want to see another actor play Obi Wan!

I though that was obvious too but lotta people have the same complaint.
It’s just him sitting in a desert. Who needs to see that?
(Obviously it won’t be that and we get ahsoka and maybe even Vader yoda or qui gon)

I support the idea of Obi-Wan alone in a hut in the desert doing monologues for whatever kind of little droid the average person has sitting around. He could even pull out an acoustic Star Wars instrument and play some songs. Like 8 episodes of VH1 Storytellers.

Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

If that follows mandos release pattern it could be ready by October next year.
It’s only 6 episodes remember.

Re: Star Wars: Kenobi (TBD)
Great news....
We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…

Probably won't given that it won't be filmed in The Volume. This will be a more traditional show.dimejinky99 wrote:If that follows mandos release pattern it could be ready by October next year.
