The Creed feeling

Post by Hypnos »

This afternoon in the office, a co-worker played his favorite Creed songs and it made me feel very melancholic. I never really dislike Creed, I even had my first Creed album before a PJ album, but I wont deny that some of the fan´s hate permeate into me, specially when I was younger. Now I dont really give a fuck. I perfectly take Creed as a poppy, more immediate and even sometimes, more satisfactory caricaturized version of PJ. When you get deep into PJ, you start to recognize the flaws and weekness in the post grunge bands. Anyway, what are your feelings on Creed?

I liked Creed before I got into Pearl Jam, but dumped them around the third album I think. I just remember Stapp being really annoying and not appreciating the christian rock vibes.

I do like to go back and relisten to some of the garbage that I listened to in highschool, but I never feel compelled to relisten to Creed. I guess I just don't think there's going to be anything interesting there to rediscover.

I had their first record (or whichever one had My Own Prison on it). And I remember liking about half of that album quite a bit. But after that I lost interest and even got pretty annoyed with the band. Annoyed to the point that even the songs I did like grew distasteful to me. Now I really can't stand to listen to them. And I really don't remember what I did with my copy of those first two records... maybe I gave them away? Maybe I sold them?

Either way, I don't own any Creed anymore. And I never have any desire to listen to them.

Sometimes my buds and I jam Creed tunes when we're hammered. The vocals are so much fun. In a bad way, but still.

Their first album is good. So is most of their second album. And they have some good non-album tracks.

I have been consistent with this my entire time on RM and if you disagree with me you can go oil up your hairy just, put leather pants on, and jump off a bridge.

Fuck Creed. They blow.

Why is this even a discussion? What is understood need not be discussed.

How can a guy that owns a set of drums Matt Cameron used to own and maybe even play say something like this? You need to give those drums to someone who will actually respect them.

I kinda fall between Tommy and Bammer on Creed. I was really into them in 2000-01, then I discovered Pearl Jam and dropped Creed like a bad habit. Several years back, I started occasionally listening to them again and found myself thinking they've got some decent songs in their earlier career, though there are still plenty of cringey moments, and they got worse with each new release. I don't think I've ever listened to the fourth album.
