There's nothing wrong with Creed. People salivated all over Just Breathe and that's pretty derivative of With Arms Wide Open.
Think I’m going to try being kind to everyone a chance.

Can you be derivative of something that is already 100% derivative of you, though?surfndestroy wrote:There's nothing wrong with Creed. People salivated all over Just Breathe and that's pretty derivative of With Arms Wide Open.

Re: The Creed feeling
"Just Breathe" sucks but it's not "derivative of 'With Arms Wide Open'" just because they're ballads that start with a fingerpicked C chord. A bazillion songs fit that criteria. Creed didn't invent that.

Re: The Creed feeling
Jorge's 100% right.
But even if he wasn't, that still doesn't prove "there's nothing wrong with Creed."
The two have nothing whatsoever to do with each other.

Re: The Creed feeling
Some of Creed, as awful as it is, is better than a lot of modern Pearl Jam but you don't see me judging you guys over in the PJ forum, calling you a bunch of terrible-taste, blind-fan losers.

Hating on Creed is some low hanging fruit. Verb has the right idea.

Lol, oh no. I haven't exactly been hiding the fact that I like some of their material, mainly stuff from the first album. I guess it's never come up in any thread you might have read.tragabigzanda wrote:Brett being a closet Creed fan is the worst thing to ever happen on RM

Re: The Creed feeling
Scott Stapp is widely regarded as a lyricist without fault. However, I contend that his otherwise unblemished record does contain one mark against it in the song In America - not once, but twice.
He writes “Only in America we kill the unborn to make ends meet.” Perhaps he has never heard of Japan or China.
But even more egregious is the line “Only in America sexuality is democracy.” Unless, of course, he was including South America:
