Other than Pearl Jam, who else is there?

Agree this isn't as strong as folklore (at least as far as first impressions go). But it's a solid record that I imagine will have some decent staying power. I think the two more country-forward tunes (sorry daft!) are my favorites. But that's not surprising.

folklore is definitely the stronger album top to bottom. it's more balanced and engaging. this one hasn't grabbed me yet. i'll have to give it more time.

off the bat though, i like the best songs off of evermore than the best off of folklore, but i'm less of a fan of the worse songs on evermore than folklore.

I supposes it’s impossible not to compare “sister” albums, but I think it’s unfair to even try until you’ve been with this album for a month. I liked Folklore immediately, but many songs on it revealed themselves, so to speak, to me over time. I have listened to Evermore once and liked it. I get the feeling if I’m stuck in the house for the next three months, I’m going to have some real feelings for this album.

I usually agree with you on all things music, but strong disagree on this one. Not as a knock on Evermore at all, it'll need time and listens to grow but there's nothing that's immediately obviously better than Exile or Cardigan or Epiphany.

That said, I like the album so far. Glad The National song is good.

On first listen this doesn't come close to folklore. But it's very good, with some really beautiful moments. The last song might be my favorite.

Doesn’t come close? Hard disagree. I think if Evermore came out first, people would say the same thing about Folklore.

100000% agree.

I’ve listened to this a couple more times, and it gets better every time.

I stand by my comment from before about the highs being higher than on Folklore.

Coney Island sounds like a song that was recorded in two different places.

I like evermore more with each listen, but I still don't think it comes close to the highs of folklore.
