I gave High Violet a spin instead, but I will give that new one a spin very soon on your recommendations.

Also, from 2013. I never pulled the trigger on this offer. Probably because I was always broke.

I Am Easy To Find is a masterpiece.4/5 wrote:Yup. I am Easy to Find is where it's at. Trouble Will Find Me was the last album of theirs I've heard. Really not sure if I should just do a revisit of their catalog up to that point or check out the newer albums.
I realize it's not a zero sum thing, but I wanted to post that choice for discussion anyway.

The mixed reaction that album got continues to make little sense to me. It's extremely good.

Sleep Well Beast and I Am Easy To Find are duo albums like Kid A/Amnesiac for me. Very similar sounds and production choices. The former on the darker and the latter on the lighter side. I very much prefer Sleep Well Beast.

I don't mind the guest vocals on IAETF as much as I used to, but I don't know if I'll ever forgive them for what they did to Rylan. It was better with just Matt.VinylGuy wrote:I love SWB and i just cant get into IAETF. Its the whole guest vocalist stuff maybe im not sure, but bores the hell out of me.

the new rylan blow the old, boring snoozefest out of the water.dad wrote:I don't mind the guest vocals on IAETF as much as I used to, but I don't know if I'll ever forgive them for what they did to Rylan. it's a perfect paradigm of the band as a whole (layered and bringing us just to the edge of where it can take off, but then it lands gracefully).

I’ve never seen them perform it in person. I’m guessing you have. I’d still take this version any day over the album.Chris_H_2 wrote:the new rylan blow the old, boring snoozefest out of the water.dad wrote:I don't mind the guest vocals on IAETF as much as I used to, but I don't know if I'll ever forgive them for what they did to Rylan. The version on the upcoming Cherry Tree release should be right up your alley.
