Gamers seem to have short memories. They'll complain for a while, then hop straight on the next hype train and pre-order the next disappointing triple A game.

They've already made their money back and the reviews are all great. They'll fix the glaring issues over the next few months and probably sell millions more copies of the game.

I read that CD Projekt Red lost billions in stock value because of this. Also that it may be in Swedish law that they had to release it for some reason or another to avoid legal action.

I really don't get why a person would preorder a game at full price. It's not like it's a limited commodity even if you want a physical copy.

I pre-ordered mine for a $10 Best Buy gift certificate and also got an additional discount. This was back when they had the Gamers Club. It was pre-ordered in 2019!

Seeing as how I usually have games mailed to me, it is the only way to get anticipated games on release date if I want a physical version. It's like going to see a movie on opening weekend. It's not that bizarre of a concept.

I’m still loving the game, but if I hadn’t snagged a Series X, I had no intention of getting it at launch. Had a feeling it would run like junk there. Even on Series X it doesnt look great.

The real question is when the next gen release actually comes out. 2021 could mean anything.

I knew what time UPS typically arrived the next day). The other stores, Circuit City, Best Buy, Walmart, K-Mart, Target, or Sears would typically be a few days after that. Those stores didn't get every game either. Toys R Us was typically the next best video game retailer. The internet made it easier to guarantee you would be able to find any game you wanted. Ultra limited releases were a thing for SNES, Genesis and Saturn but that practice doesn't exist anymore. I might preorder 1 game a year now.

I certainly don't pre-order as much as I used to, but I will search out deals for the best price for a game around launch. That Gamers Club was a great deal (RIP).

Actually played a little last night, no crash, was pretty fun. Weird pace to start the game but I enjoyed it.

The start is fun but once the world opens up to you after a few missions, it gets way better.
