So is everyone warming to Brendan O'Brien's comment: "one of the best things they've ever done"?

It has top 25 potential so I suppose that comment isn't out of the realm of reason.

I mean that's probably what he's employed for, which is... icky.

Yeah, I was thinking earlier about how much anxiety that statement elicited, given the general opinion of his recent influence on the band. And the frequent use of "cheesy" to describe the song in early reviews and after the listening parties only seemed to confirm the worst. And then holy shit.

The big blam...blam...blamblamblam stuff on the toms is the cheesiest thing about it.

Well, I often think that if a song of this type has made you cry it's probably made enough of an impact.

Depends on how it makes you cry, I guess. Are you feeling the pressure of 10,000?

More and more I think it's the band's transparency about the whole process that's created all this furore over BO'B. They're not afraid to admit that they've got him on board, he's helping them, they love it. That's kind of embarrassing, but how many other bands actually do this "hire a branding expert" thing and act all cool and shit about it? Plenty?

Anyone else wish they added another "hear the sirens" part after the solo? Don't know why but I just love the beginning and would have repeated it. Still love the song, though.

The thing I love about this board is that there are people who are going to prefer Inside Job. They'll be ridiculous people, but they'll be there nonetheless.

Are you listening to the video version? The dropped the second Sirens from that.
