Maybe I’m just in a bad mood but those atrocious effects ruined the episode for me. That looked like a bad video game render.

Could not be more excited for the Fett project. I'm really hoping it's not just the next storyline for this show and is it's own thing. I can easily see Mando joining up with Bo Katan and getting into the Mandalorian traditions. Hopefully we've not seen the last of him.

Before the episode aired and all you guys were hoping it was Luke, I really didn't want it to be. Too obvious and all that. But this was just fucking perfect.

And that little bonding moment between Grogu and R2 just put it over the top.

If they couldn’t pull it off convincingly (time crunch, perhaps?), just keep the hood on.

It wasn't great, that's for sure. But the emotional build up was spot on.

Also, Luke projecting himself across the galaxy to convincingly troll his traitorous student is still going to be most badass thing he'll ever do.

THIS.

*gets on Last Jedi soapbox*

Having Luke get into a crazy lightsaber fight (like a good portion of fans seem to have wanted) would’ve landed with a wet thud to me, just like the opening of Matrix Reloaded. We last saw Neo bending space and time and obliterating heretofore invincible agents with minimum effort. Then Reloaded opens with...more kung fu? Step your game up!

Agree but that buildup has to end satisfyingly. If it climaxes with “Am I watching an unfinished effects test reel?” instead of “OMG IT’S REALLY HIM!!!!”, it kinda taints the whole thing for me.

I guess I saw the Mando/Grogu farewell as the emotional highpoint. That was my takeaway.

The Luke stuff was a wonderful reveal/moment but it was a really just a setup to the separation of the series' main characters.

Sat down to watch what I hoped would be a satisfying conclusion to season 2 and got Luke fucking Skywalker! Wow! I don't have the words right now. All I know is that I haven't felt this way watching anything Star Wars related since I was a little kid watching the original trilogy.

I'm going to watch this episode again right now.
