I feel like Bloodbuzz Ohio represents The National most. It’s nowhere near their best, but it’s one I feel might register with a casual listener.

this one was tough. they've alternated between "alt country," "folk rock," "rock," etc. But I feel if someone who has never heard of Wilco wants a song that gives them a feel for a mix of all their sounds, this may be it.
Runners Up: Side With the Seeds, Pot Kettle Black, Impossible Germany, and Cold Slope/King of You.
