It's a dull, boring, and painfully unfunny film with unlikable characters and flat narration moving through boring set pieces which never accrete to a greater whole. It's like tailor-made for TBS reruns, it's the microwave dinner of Christmas movies

The thing about Christmas Vacation is that it's actually a good movie and not a bad one.

Watched and enjoyed Mank last night (though it really feels like any discussion of this movie came and went quick). It was good, and I was surprised, considering what we all knew about the story beforehand (the tug and war between him and Orson Welles), was a relatively small part of the actual point of the film.

We almost went with this the other night but instead watched a Mike Birbiglia stand-up.
