I've been looking forward to Promising Young Woman for a while now, and the release finally starts today. In this movie, Carey Mulligan plays a woman who goes to bars alone and pretends to be too drunk to take care of herself. So when "nice guys" take advantage by bringing her back to their place and trying to rape her, she kills them. I have two great hopes for this movie:

1. It does not turn out to be a story about how the Carey Mulligan character falls in love with the one guy who doesn't try to rape her.

2. No RMer sees the movie and decides to come to RM and write that the 35-year-old Carey Mulligan is too old/not pretty enough to rape.

I actually have high hopes for number 1. I'm more worried about number 2.

The Greatest Showman was on network tv last night. I didn’t watch but it’s way better than I ever expected it to be.

I watched it a while back. Its weird that they thought Hugh Jackman could pull off playing a man in his early 20’s just fine.

Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

I hate Danny Trejo. He is not funny, he is a lame actor, and he can barely even speak Spanish which is what most casting people have him do. He isn't good in anything. He just sucks
