All signs point to it taking a year to get the US/EU vaccinated, but hopefully with President Turnip out of the way things will start to go smoother over here. I have no idea how badly Brexit will mess up the UK's efforts.
Here's one sign that points to a little bit longer--between 20 and 40% of nurses in LA county have refused the vaccine.

Maybe they should just vaccinate the nursing homes first instead of tik tok nurses who think they are geniuses because they google stuff on their smart phones?

No? All signs pointing to big issues:

https://news.yahoo.com/covid-19-vaccine ... 09513.html
Between Nov. 25 and Dec. 8, 56.2% of U.S. adults were still planning to get vaccinated when their turn came. This despite the fact that by the end of that survey period, more than 14.5 million Americans had been infected and about 280,000 had died, according to the WHO.

Women are less likely than men to accept the vaccine. In recent weeks, only 50.6% of them said they planned to get vaccinated, down from 69.5% in April. Among men, interest in immunization fell from 79.1%in the spring to 62.3% eight months later.

When asked recently, 80.6% of Asian Americans said they would get a COVID-19 vaccine. It sounds like a lot, but it was even higher in April — 90.9%.

No other racial or ethnic group is anywhere near as interested in a COVID-19 vaccine. Only 58.6% of white Americans surveyed in November and December said they’d get one (down from 77.8% in April), along with 52.7% of Latinx Americans (down from 73.1%) and a mere 37.6% of Black Americans (down from 50.7%).
Perhaps we are seeing the mixture of sensationalism in reporting on early side effects or the realization that under 40s are >99.9% likely to survive? I’d like to believe it’s not political or ignorance, or worse.. a belief god will save them, but that’s hard to say.

Probably a decades long erosion of faith in institutional legitimacy. The California case is going to have its own "raw water" flavor but I suspect you'll find similar "my body my choice" arguments all over the country.

Would be interesting to see the overlap of those who’ve consistently criticized/defied lockdowns or lesser orders issued, and those who are now refusing the vaccine.

That overlap would represent the percentage of our population completely out of touch with reality and uninterested or unmoved by any responsibility to the greater good.

As long as my wife can get it I don't care if everyone else passes on the vaccine. It would be pretty funny if billions were spent just for my wife. She is a princess after all.

People can do math. For a young healthy person the virus isn't a risk. Most people are oblivious to how fat they are though. We need to get messaging out there that covid loves fats. We'd hit 70% vaxxed.

I assure you people are aware. They just don’t dwell on it or define people by it

Damning indictment, even though it ignores the fact it was discovered months before the "wet market" narrative took over:

Not knowing this pharmacist’s motives yet, can we assume we’ll see more of this vaccine sabotage by people who have strong feelings one way or the other regarding COVID-19?

Oh, and happy new year everyone
