Same. I knew a guy who'd been in for moving in on 20, and he was a staff sergeant, but he'd had a stripe taken a couple of times because of financial issues.E.H. One thing that stands out to me is that she served 14 years, and left as a senior airman, which is an E-4. Usually, if someone has served that long in the Air Force, they'd have at minimum made it to E-5 (Non-Commissioned Officer) or above. Sounds like she had a troubled military career, which could've lead to being so radicalized.Mickey wrote:Wait wait it gets better!Mickey wrote:LmfaooooooMickey wrote:Reportedly the lady shot yesterday is a former troop and small-business owner from San Diego, which is a perfect microcosm of the kinds of people this shit appeals to.
After 14 years in the military, Ashli Babbitt bought a pool supply company and delved into far-right politics.
She then served in the Air Force Reserves and the Air National Guard. In the Guard, she was assigned to a unit based near Washington that is known as the “Capital Guardians,” because one of their primary missions is defending the city. Security forces in the squadron regularly train with riot shields and clubs for what the Air Force calls “civil disturbance missions.”
idk. I'm sure there's way more to it, but that part really stands out to me.

To be fair, if I went to DC the only thing stopping me from trying to climb walls like that would be the threat that I might be shot or scolded. Some of those people may just be taking advantage of anarchy to do something fundad wrote:maga 101: can't storm the capitol by taking the easy way unless you're a beta cuck.E.H. has the threat of being scolded prevented you from doing other things? The Argonaut wrote:To be fair, if I went to DC the only thing stopping me from trying to climb walls like that would be the threat that I might be shot or scolded. Re: The Protest Thread
Multiple people died after a mob egged on by the president overran the capitol building. People can be heard on video actively searching for the vice president, who the president had attacked verbally earlier that same day. No one really knows for sure what would’ve happened if these people had found a Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, Mike Pence, etc. Multiple efforts, including by Republican governors, to activate crowd control reinforcements were stalled or rejected by the White House.
I just really don’t understand the last 36 hours worth of reaction. By anybody (except Burt).

Publicly executing Chuck Schumer might actually bring the country together though.

Re: The Protest Thread
And it's not even Trump's speech that same day. It's the entire 2020 campaign where he said it was going to be rigged from the start and if he lost it was because of a conspiracy. And his various tweets and speeches adding to the bonfire that was Jan. 6th. He's been inciting his fanatic for months.McParadigm wrote:Multiple people died after a mob egged on by the president overran the capitol building.
