Re: The Song that Best Represents a Band/Artist
after listening to AT&T for the first time in a while I have to agree, if we're only going off Wowee Zowee.
is Gold Soundz not the best representation of Pavement?

Re: The Song that Best Represents a Band/Artist
Both good candidates, I think. I have no idea. Pavement is all over the place but they have a definitive sound I can't really describe well enough to nail it down.
"Grounded" does seem like a more likely candidate than AT&T, fwiw. There's a heaviness to it. A sort of slow burn, thick and sludgy thing that seems to happen at least once or twice on every album. I also hear it on "Stop Breathing", and a lot on Brighten the Corners ("Type Slowly", Transport is Arranged"...), "Ann Don't Cry" from Terror Twilight...

It sure is catchy, but it's kind of by the numbers. Where are the freakouts? Where's the volume and energy?dad wrote:is Gold Soundz not the best representation of Pavement?

I think the consensus was Handshake Drugs.tragabigzanda wrote:We definitely did Wilco but I can’t remember what we agreed on. It may have been Pot Kettle Black?
I’d also embrace Theologians.
