All of these new songs are garbage, but I guess that's not surprising.

Sometimes Im really amazed that people look at them differently than say something like Nickleback.Birds in Hell wrote:All of these new songs are garbage, but I guess that's not surprising.
I really like Dave. And I do own a couple of FF records, and yes they have some great songs. But overall the band is a bore to me. Ive seen them live twice and both times it didnt do much for me. And every record since 'the colour' Im hoping to hear a great record again. Or at least different. The only one I enjoyed was 'Wasting Light'. The ones that came after 'Wasting Light' are even worse than the ones preceding it...And judging on those new singles the next one will be no different.

Re: Foo Fighters
This shitty ass slow boy version of Times Like These they keep playing on TV shows and the inauguration fucking sucks.
Please just go back to playing drums on vastly superior Queens of the Stone Age songs again.

I did in fact ask “why is everyone holding instruments if they are not going to play them?”

Ya never know when you'll feel like hearing to 'Hey, Johnny Park!' on wax.

Re: Foo Fighters
That first record was such a left field breath of fresh air for me. I didn't buy anything after that but heard the singles on the radio. They aren't my cup of tea, but I get the mass appeal.

Re: Foo Fighters
I am almost halfway through the new album. It’s okay. Better than the last two by a significant margin for me, though this to me is is most like One By One - a collection of the median of anthem rockers all stacked together.
Edit: got through the rest and actually I have to say it’s a pretty decent record. These days, Foo Fighters benefit from the 36 min run time, in large part because all those anthems can get exhausting. But there’s a good few gems particularly leading into the second half (the title track i found quite enjoyable and the breakdown in Holding Poison is pretty cool). They’re not forging any new paths even though they keep saying they are. It’s a direct descendant of One By One, but I can get behind at least a few of these songs. Still nowhere close to the great Foos albums in Foo Fighters, The Colour and the Shape, and Wasting Light. Those are way above this.
Edit 2: Spotify threw me from this to Burden in My Hand. Foos couldn’t stand a chance against that. It’s like having a nice salad then watching your friend walk by with a killer cheesesteak.
