infinitely more fun than listening to boots i think.
I'm with you, dime. I have a lot more fun retracking and mixing and matching than I do listening to boots. Always have. Even back in the ol' mixed tape days.
ive probably got like 100 mix cds for PJ, and i dont know how many cassette tapes of both PJ and Metallica from back in high school, i always loved making new ones

I guess I'm the only one who loves I'm Open. It's a beautiful track.

It's interesting for sure but a little self indulgent too.

I feel like No Code is the album that changes the most in terms of how I feel about it in the scope of PJ's catalog. Yield, Vitalogy and Binaural have been my top 3 for quite a long time, but No Code seems to, depending on my mood, sit right up there with them or down near the bottom, albeit a fair amount above their most recent work.

I completely agree with this. Merkinball feels way more Vitalogy than No Code.

In that case, where would you track them on Vitalogy?

And don't you dare cut Aye Davanita to do it! I've got my eye on you, Davis.

Stupid Mop is obvious. I think Bugs would have to be the other to be cut. I'd hate to do it, but it is the next best choice.

As much as I LOVE the Merkinball songs, I hate messing with Vitalogy. It should be left alone.

Now to see how No Code would work with Merkinball.

Not only did I like No Code from the start, but I think it gets even better with age. Red Mosquito and Hail, Hail are classics in my book.

I can't see Long Road ending No Code. It actually works as a prequel of sorts to Sometimes.

Merkin songs and No Code songs don't even dream the same dreams. They'll never be friends. They're probably toxic to one another.

The last couple of years, Around the Bed is one of the only Pearl Jam songs I come back to. Goddamn, there's some great playing going on in that song.

All in all, though, I prefer all of Pearl Jam's albums as they are. Most retracking attempts ultimately prove unsatisfactory.

i love it, i wish they play the whole thing live instead of Ed singing im open.
Even if they have some good b sides and outtakes ( all night being the best of them i think) i love No Code so much, for me its just perfect the way it is.
