Are we all just forgetting how terrible Brady looked in that second half?

I'm tempted to pick the Chiefs by a touchdown, but losing two of their starting offensive linemen has me a bit concerned.

Chiefs have the better team. 49 - 17, end of the first half.

I could see that. I mean, if Tyreek Hill just imagines Bucs defenders are a pregnant girlfriend he'll run right over them.

Losing Fisher can't be overstated.

In the past two seasons the Chiefs have lost only a single game when Fisher has started. Losing him is a big deal. However, this team has a next man up mentality that can't be denied. The team is better than any single player. The O-line will be a factor for sure. Tampa has a decent pass rush and an overall defense that plays angry and tough.

I was surprised to see that they are 2-2 all time against each other (my memory was that Brady usually manhandled Mahomes).

And one of those loses in the Mahomes column came down to an over-time off-sides penalty on the Chiefs Defense.

This should be a fantastic game.

Tampa is 4th in the league in sacks, so I'd say better than decent. They're definitely not clear favorites by any means--MD is right that Brady looked like shit in the second half, and if we're still down Whitehead we're extra vulnerable on the pass (though Winfield is reportedly coming back)--but I'll admit that seeing the headline about the O-line made me giddy and could, honestly, be the difference maker in what should be a great game.

Fair. They have a great pass rush (I tend to view these things in terms of how they work against Mahomes, and I think TB has a great pass rush that will look decent against Mahomes).

Both teams have tons of weapons on offense. Both teams have real defensive strengths. Both teams have great quarterbacks.

Based on how things went when these teams met earlier this season in Tampa, I like the Chiefs. Obviously, they're my team and I'm all in on them. But I think they genuinely are the better team, too.

But people lose all the time when they bet against Brady. This game could go either way. And neither team should feel any shame in losing to the other.

Oh believe me, as a Tampa fan I'd rather be facing the Bills. But we'll see. This team seems to have gotten better each week they play together.

Totally. It's going to be a very different experience playing them this time.

Mahomes’ turf toe should not be underestimated. He has not looked 100%. You need to be 100% to win the superbowl.

My biggest thing providing optimism right now is it feels like the year after deflategate where Brady was suspended for 4 games then came back and won the super bowl. I really think the whole "I can do this without Belichick" thing is driving him this year.

I also think the Chiefs will win, Brady will start to get tired in the 2nd half. Close to his bedtime.
