stereogum had a few singles from these guys, and they're pretty good. they remind me of Iceage a bit.

Spotify's Release Radar comes in handy from time to time, since I otherwise would have been unaware of this new Bell Orchestre album coming out March 19, House Music, on Erased Tapes. Bell Orchestre are a band who play a kind of neo-classical post-rock akin to artists like Rachel's, Clogs, and Esmerine and who have close ties with Arcade Fire. They put out a few albums between 2002 and 2009 and then went quiet as Arcade Fire and other commitments dominated. Supposedly they had reconvened in 2019 and began working on this new album and playing shows again, but it flew under my radar until I was looking at that Spotify playlist and saw this new track, "V: Movement." The entire album is conceived as a single piece born out of an hour-long inspired improvisation that was edited, trimmed, and occasionally re-sculpted into its existing 45-minute form.

Here's that fifth segment, "V: Movement," on Youtube:

This is probably the biggest/fastest 180 I've done on an artist. "Two Saviors" by Buck Meek is a flawless album. Can't stop listening.

OK, so technically a 2020 album but as I've only discovered it this year I'm posting about it in this thread. Come at me if you have a problem, bitches.

Bobby Lee is from Sheffield (UK) but does like an ambient americana type thing. A reviewer likened him to Ripley Johnson so I was immediately in. His album Shakedown in Slabtown is a damn fine instrumental listen. Here's what I believe to be a Warren Zevon cover (?), the last song of the album - 11 minutes of excellentness - "Join Me in LA Boogie":

Here's another early 2020 release that I've only just come across. Leafar Legov is a German producer who does his own style of downtempo house. His album Mirror from last year is certainly safe as work background music and I've been spinning it on high rotation the past week working from home. A great listen that has enough going on to keep you interested but never gets in the way, so to speak.

Here's 'In Your Mirror':

Thanks Higgs, this reminds me a lot of some of the German minimal house producers I was really into around the early-mid-00s. Definitely going to be jamming on this today.

Same, they have probably been my #1 go-to label over the past 3 years or so.

So is the new Steven Wilson any good? I'll check it out eventually, but at the moment I can't stop listening to Pixies' Beneath the Eyrie from last year.

This one goes into the "music my wife likes" category (and is another late 2020 release - sue me). ford. is a 20 year old producer/artist from Utah who does a down-temp electronic indie thing. His album The Color of Nothing is an enjoyable, easy listen and perfect to down a few Friday afternoon beers to.

I think the last track "4:38am (feat Barrie)" is my fave, but it's strong throughout. Check it:
