Re: The Running Thread
I'm going to post a picture of my Boston grave yard at the end of winter. I have four pairs that are just barely hanging on but I don't want to get new shoes until the snow is gone for the year.washing machine wrote:We did it, guys. 100 miles on the Bostons.
I know, I know. You can go 400-500 miles on a shoe. But to be fair, I use these shoes for work and average 2 miles on my feet during a regular shift. So, they're more worn than verb thinks.
They do still have some life in them. I'll run in them some more, especially on rainy days. I can't wait to get into those Kinvaras next week, though.

Re: The Running Thread
Questionable lace design on that first pair, but the upper looks comfortable.

Re: The Running Thread
They really hit a groove from 5 to 6 to 7. I bet I owned close to a dozen pairs combined from that stretch. The 7 is the goat.

Re: The Running Thread
I really liked my 8s, but I can't say why. I don't run enough to really get a sense of what makes a good shoe "good". I just know that I ran more on these than any other shoe I've ever owned. Could've just been correlated with pandemic year activity, though.

If this doesn't inspire you, well I just don't know. Read it with "Long Distant Runner" playing in the background.

Re: The Running Thread
this was somewhat of a bust...i started to develop something between a tightness in cramp behind my left knee around a mile and a quarter in, which sucks because i had a good pace going
after the first mile and a half i walked most of the next half mile, then just ran as i could in short intervals
ended up doing 4 miles total in around 45:15

Re: The Running Thread
That doesnt sound like a bust at all. That sounds like a lot of ground covered and a sizeable amount of outdoor activity.

Re: The Running Thread
well i was hoping to stay out around an hour and be able to go longer distances without walking...so yeah only a bust i guess from a goal standpoint, but all things considered it wasn't a bad timewashing machine wrote:That doesnt sound like a bust at all. Three treadmill runs and one miserably cold outside run this week. Winter grind.
