Re: New Song (9.19.13): Sirens
I find it helps to remember all of the past live versions that people preferred to the recorded ones. Sometimes the studio versions grew on people, sometimes they didn't.

I'm not surprised. It's certainly more aged and mature.mastaflatch wrote:i prefer Boom's cheese.harmless wrote:I find it helps to remember all of the past live versions that people preferred to the recorded ones. Sometimes the studio versions grew on people, sometimes they didn't.

well I already went from wtf?! to wait wut? to huh. now at meh.harmless wrote:"Kinda dull" is a good start. If it's not outright horror you'll probably like it with 10 listens.Noaheb wrote:first listen in the company van today through an external speaker from my phone...it was kinda dull
I need to learn the lyrics and play it through my car speakers to know for sure but I still think this won't last...hope I'm wrong
I'm still so confused...derp
Maybe it'll reverse course to wait wut? again and then grow into a nice love song I'll only truly appreciate if I ever fall in love again and have kids...

Fuck the falling in love and having kids. This thing is pretty melancholy to me; you might appreciate it more if it can instil pain into you.Noaheb wrote:well I already went from wtf?! to wait wut? to huh. now at meh.harmless wrote:"Kinda dull" is a good start. Re: New Song (9.19.13): Sirens
I wish they'd gone full cheese on this one. Stretched it out to 9 minutes, and just made it a fucking rock ballad opera. Someone posted a gif of Slash on November Rain. That's not far off. They shoulda just gone for it.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

a friend of mind wondered if sirens was inspired by the mass shootings. Probably not, but not a crazy interpretation either.

We should create thread specific memes for each of the lightning bolt songs, like the song specific artwork.

one of my friends said that it was a good song, but that given eddie's voice he would be better of doing (went on to describe the end or just breathe)

I think Ed sounds great on the song, I like his vocals here quite a bit more than I do on those songs.stip wrote:one of my friends said that it was a good song, but that given eddie's voice he would be better of doing (went on to describe the end or just breathe)

Re: New Song (9.19.13): Sirens
that's almost the universal consensus around here (I prefer just breathe and the end to sirens but I think he sounds better on sirens and I also love those two songs), which is why I thought that comment was amusing.

I've only given this a single listen but I can't get passed the feeling that this is an absolute stinker. I don't actually want to listen to it again.
