There have only been three celebrities who have made me cry upon their passing as if they were members of my own family (and in some cases even more than my own family). Carlin was one of them. I was absolutely devastated. I'm still not sure I'm over it.tree_ wrote:omg george carlin is dead

Re: R.I.P.
I think there are maybe three or four celebs whose death would bother me, but it might be more because they represent the final death of my childhood.
Schwarzenegger, Eastwood, Harrison Ford, etc.
Though in Eastwood's case, he's still putting out terrific stuff, so it would also be a loss of getting more good stuff.
Which is why losing Philip Seymour Hoffman really sucked.

Andy and Phil's batshit crazy wife were doing drugs one night, and she went home and murder/suicided.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Nicholson is going to be a big one for me. He’s 83 now and largely out of sight for a decade but man what a list of credits and accolades. There’s speculation he retired because of trouble with memory loss. True or not becoming elderly is generally not glamorous.
