I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Re: What movies are you watching?
Cold, rainy night so I stayed home with a cheap bottle of wine and a movie. Finally watched Marriage Story. Good, grown up, talky, Acting drama with great performances that’s as depressing as expected but with some unexpected humor too. Couldn’t help but think of Kramer vs Kramer.

Malcom & Marie.
It would have been a better movie if this one under the 70 minute mark. It just goes on with the same stuff and it becomes tiresome. The movie looks gorgeous, shot on 35 mm black and white, with some great framing and cool camera movements. I loved everything movie related, the critics, the racial stuff. And or course, Zendaya is magnetic as always.
I dont like Washington though. I never cared for the guy and this movie needed a good actor. He is just not.

I started Irresistible on HBO last night but abandoned it halfway through. It was Jon Stewart's baby so I wanted to like it. He wrote and directed, and Steve Carrell is good in the right project, but I was disappointed and bored.

Jon Stewart is not a good director, I tend to be a completionist with movies even when they're bad but we turned Rosewater off.

Re: What movies are you watching?
Yeah, it's unwatchable. I agree. I wanted to like it, too, and Steve Carell is one of those guys that I thought I could watch in anything, but this one was so boring. I made it maybe twenty minutes, max. I think David Cross made a better version of this exact story not too long ago, too.Biff Pocoroba wrote:I started Irresistible on HBO last night but abandoned it halfway through. Fragments Of A Woman.
The first half is brutal, beautiful, super well made and engaging. I would say the whole movie is like that but those least 10 minutes were it goes for a happy conclusive ending. Those are just...ugh.

Re: What movies are you watching?
from imdb : A wayward man has returned to an eerily familiar place where an unspeakable horror occurred many years ago. His destiny is intertwined with a young couple that twenty years prior, after a heated argument, became victims of a tragic and unfortunate destiny. From that moment on, their lives would be changed forever.bada wrote:If anyone has watched The Reunion (2020) and can tell me what the hell I just watched feel free to let me know.
