Shit man, sorry to hear that. I still remember that conversation from when my mom past 25 years ago, but in my case it was with her mother, which was whole other level of misery I wouldnt wish on anyone.

Ugh. Sorry for you both. (You too, blue viper, you posted when I previewed) What a fuckin year. I lost both of my grandmothers (101 & 96 years old) in the last two months of 2020. What are the odds? How do you collectively live that many years and die 3 weeks apart during the last 6 weeks of the year??? I’m not upset about them, they lived long, happy lives, it was their time, they didn’t suffer. And I’m not superstitious, but what a coincidence.

Also, my mom selected me as the one who gets to decide this DNR business someday. Yay.
101 and 96? Damn, those are long lives. That's almost 200 years of collective human experience.

My wife and MIL had to do the whole DNR thing for my FIL and then the hospital went against the instructions.

To give some more context: they worked on him for longer than the DNR specified and basically brought him back from the dead. It was 6 years ago and he's still kicking.

Uh, that probably makes for awkward visits with the FIL...

And no. I believe he was clinically dead for something like 25 minutes, and the DNR stated to stop reviving him if life signs were gone for 15. I am sure there would have been no way to sue for something that cut it so close.

Apparently he's been a douche for years, it's not a maladaptation of being told to wear a mask.

Let's all point out his tiny dick instead.
