Let's do this again! We will determine what RM's TOP 100 ARTISTS are. I believe the first and only time we did this was in 2006, so it may be time for an update. RM TOP 100 ARTISTS

Original Results thread 2006~~~

Submit a ranked list of your top 20 artists via PM to The Argonaut so we can determine definitively what RM's top 100 artists are. You can submit a shorter list of less than 20 artists if it so pleases you.

mowbs ran the 2006 tournament and he did a very good job, so here is an amended version of his ruleset:

-Including Pearl Jam is allowed. This is a change from the 2006 rules. The band and our opinions of it are very different from what they were in 2006. Will Pearl Jam be the favorite band on a Pearl Jam board? I'm honestly not sure. Let's find out.

-If you'd like to vote for Eric Clapton, for example, then that vote will reflect Clapton as a solo artist. If you want to vote for Blind Faith or The Yardbirds or any other group he has taken part in, then one of your votes will have to be specifically for that band. That being said, you can vote for something like The Beatles and all four members individually, but it will have to occupy 5 different spots on your list. So just keep in mind that both Soundgarden and Audioslave could appear on the countdown if you'd like to vote for both.

-Again, the criteria for your list is entirely up to you. Even if an artist had their first release a month ago, you can still vote for them.

-I'm gonna ask that you rank them. Higher-ranked artists on your lists will earn more points (20 points for #1, 19 points for #2, etc). At the end, I'll share all the info about how many points each artist earned and how many total lists they appeared on. Ranking will be based on tally (total appearances on lists) with points as a tiebreaker followed by highest ranking as a second tiebreaker.

Use this thread to ask questions. You can PM me your list whenever you are ready. Once lists start coming in, I'll set a deadline for when you need to get them in by. I'd ask that you refrain for now from posting your complete list. There'll be time for that after.

It's not against the rules to post your list, do what you gotta do. You don't have to post it publicly, as that will keep the element of surprise alive.
