Are you trying to be a dick, or is just by accident?

The correct response is that "high crimes and misdemeanors" are whatever the legislative branch determines it to be.

Using legal terms like "Incitement" just confuses things.

I'm tickled that there's intelligent life in this thread and i know, I spelled " 'high crimes and misdemeanors' are whatever the legislative branch determines it to be " wrong. I'm sorry

get it on record, set precedent. so it doesn't happen again, or if it does, they can take it further.

Yeah, given that this is really just a political vote as compared to any sort of trial, what really is the point though?

The only precedent at play here is that senators will vote with their party. That was set a looooong time ago. Not one single senator will change the way they vote on this because of any of the arguments being put forward. Trump could have not had lawyers at all and had an empty lectern sitting there and it still wouldn't have made a tiny bit of difference.

Total waste of time. Bring on the Georgia criminal investigation though. That could actually be worth something.

It's not a waste of time. Trump is now the first president to be impeached twice. And this will provide a good summary of what happened, while getting these people on record on where they stand. Congress wastes time all year, at least they're doing something now.
