Remember a band called Pavement? (Mostly Jick Talk)

Other than Pearl Jam, who else is there?

The title track was a real highlight (Doors tag and all) when I saw the Jicks a couple of years ago.

Never been a big fan of terror twilight. Major Leagues is a good cut though.

Perhaps.

I just went through this thread and there’s minimal talk or love for Watery, Domestic, and I don’t know what to do about that.

Some great early Pavement there.

Speak, See, Remember
Cream of gold
Platform
The Hexx

Album was supposed to be "heavy" at first, but then solo tracks were added. You are a light, Ann dont cry, and major leagues which i like but that song should have gotten the At&t treatment.

bump because i've been playing lots of early Pavement lately, specifically, Watery, Domestic.

as much as i love it i didn't know--until today--its release would mark the final time they'd record with gary young, and the first time mark ibold and bob nastanovich would join them in the studio as members of pavement.

thanks, wikipedia.

according to genius.com, the title is a reference to "the band’s predilection for watery, American lagers"--something i also learned today.

damn straight.

gary's drumming on this is fantastic too. that misfit rules.

this is one of my favorite things they've done.

Took Watery, Domestic and the first few tracks from Westing (By Musket & Sextant) on my run this morning. I can appreciate the energy and volume of those early tracks, especially in the context of waking my brain with a heart race boost at sunrise. Been a while since I've listened to the older stuff.

Frontwards has such a good tone and tempo to it. Not much too it, but it just has something I like in that early stuff. Shoot the Singer is another forgotten favorite for me. That main guitar line is like ear candy.

Never heard that bit about the EP title. That's perfect.

Spiral's solo and side projects have been something I've overlooked in the past. Mistake on my part.

I just ordered the CD version. My other four Pavement 2CD reissues have been waiting for this for so long! I love that they went with one of the original brainstormed titles for TT, Farewell Horizontal. I think they mentioned that on the Slow Century DVD.

Awesome! Definitely in the minority here but the Terror Twilight era is one of my favorites for this band. They do the deluxe format well. This is probably a rare must-buy for me in the streaming age.

I just made an iTunes playlist with Nigel's preferred track order for Terror Twilight (minus the outtake "Shagbag"), and DAMN this makes for a surprisingly different and better album experience.

What is this? Sounds interesting.

(My dog's name is Nigel and I did a double take before remembering who produced TT )
