I've watched more SNL in the last year than I have since the 90s glory days. Is this show going through a renaissance of sorts or is this just pandemic TV habits for me? It's a lot funnier than I remember it being in the last decade and a half. The cast and writers don't seem to be doing the same "beat the same joke to death" thing that used to kill skits for me.

Really? They’ve had some moments but I don’t think the past couple seasons have been that great. Granted, I still like enough to consistently watch.

I'm an overworked dad now and 2021 is bleak as hell, so my mileage for humor may vary.

Again, I haven't seen this show in years. It's just funnier than I remember, is all.

Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

When Machine Gun Kelly was on, all me and my wife could talk about during the show was how much we bet him and Pete Davidson hung out during rehearsals. Sure enough, during the closing credits, there they were...chumming it up.

The absurdist stuff is hilarious now. The Hot Damn skit from last week had me rolling. But so did the WU bit where they cancelled a bunch of kids.

This Regina King episode is bad. She’s game, the writing just stinks.

The fleoana sketch was great!

Also I just love beck Bennet so much his drink Tom Brady had me rolling.

Regina is definitely awesome but yea the writing definitely sucked

That was a disappointing episode, one of the least funny episodes of the season. Bennett’s Tom Brady bit was good and I thought the housewives sign sketch was alright but otherwise a forgettable evening.

Pelotaunt was funny. As was the gorilla glue lawsuit sketch. Update has some good lines.

I also enjoyed both of Rateliffs songs.

While I agree that the Regina King ep wasn't the strongest, the Weed Gummy skit is the funniest thing I've seen on this show in a long time.

Just watching the A&E special Chris Farley: Anything for a Laugh from 2019.

Fucking heartbreaking. They have a lot of SNL alumni as well as old friends and fam telling stories about how they saw his decline. Ackroyd, Spade, Goodman, Nealon, Franken, his brothers all remembering him. It's the best doc I've seen of him yet.
