I put Get it Back in between WES and SBWM. Love it. Fucking hell Pearl Jam, thanks for the first good new album since I've been a fan. I needed this. It's hard to become a fan around 2006, listening to Ten-S/T, then getting BS and LB.

Re: Gigaton: Official album thread
I tried this today after reading your post. While I think Get it Back has some hallmarks of a b-side, I liked how it changed the dynamics of the first half of the album. And SBWM benefits from not being placed directly after a five minute song that’s also built on crunchy Ed riffs....from not feeling like another set of the same lift.Leatherhead wrote:I put Get it Back in between WES and SBWM.

It's probably the best Pearl Jam song in about 10+ years, but I guess there's no accounting for taste.

That's a cool song. Better than several on the album.

Re: Gigaton: Official album thread
I like the song well enough, sounds like a wwc tune with Ed on vocals, but im happy they left it out of Gigaton.

It's just okay, which puts it about on par with the rest of Gigaton

Re: Gigaton: Official album thread
Get It Back is basically Pearl Jam shooting for par. There’s nothing wrong with that, but Gigaton, whether you love it or hate it, is at least pushing for something more.
I still think Get It Back would have enhanced either Backspacer or Lightning Bolt, fit pretty comfortably on the avocado album, but rarely does a b-side Pearl Jam song fit squarely into their base sound.

Re: Gigaton: Official album thread
I don't think it's as good as the best of Gigaton. It's also not as good s Near which came out at the same time. So it's gets a bit buried for me.Birds in Hell wrote:I think it's better than all of them.Anders wrote:That's a cool song. Better than several on the album.
I'm terms of "recent" non-album Pearl Jam, it's not better than Ole either.
But I do like the song.
