A coworker of mine contracted COVID around Christmas. She went into the hospital January 9th with breathing problems and had major lung damage and then a hard time breathing. She had plateaued and when I spoke to her about a couple of weeks ago she seemed in good spirits and was hopeful for a recovery. Last week she was diagnosed with three kinds of pneumonia. Her son got to see her for three hours yesterday. She died last night. Alone. Fuck it all.

My brother survived but he was extremely sick for two weeks and now has a post-covid asthma condition.

It didn't affect anybody else in my family that badly. I suspect that I had caught it a year ago when I was a little under the weather, but I wasn't able to get tested. I've been exposed many times since and have never gotten sick again. Knock on wood, but I think/hope I'm immune now. Still being careful anyway.

They've got an ivermectin oral paste for horses at the local feed store. Its apple flavored. The tube claims its good up to 1250 lbs.

Can I get internet clout comparing the various flavors of veterinary medicines that at some point were speculated to be mildly useful as 'Rona prophylactics or treatments?

If you for whatever reason feel the need to have wide spectrum antibiotics on hand, check your local feed or pet store. We can dose livestock and fish up with whatever, but need a permission slip for our domestic pets or ourselves.

Last I hear, the number was something like 60% of people always wear a mask when around other people. Worrying about double masks or getting rid of gaiters before you fix that problem is like trying to paint the walls in a house you haven't finished building.

I barely care enough about humanity to wear one mask.
Think I’m going to try being kind to everyone a chance.

To believe masks accomplish much of anything at all you would also have to believe that our "experts" are so fucking stupid it took them 10 months to figure out we needed two instead of one.

How many masks do you wear?
1, usually with a carbon filter.

I was buying a pack of masks at Target, and they have pockets for a filter. There was also a box of filters right there, so I bought those too.

I was going to take them back, b/c I felt silly, but then they started all this double masking talk, so I shrugged and put in the carbon filter figuring that it was essentially a second mask. I have no idea how long one is supposed to last, so I just keep using the same one until I feel like it's been a while.

I'm of the opinion that if people keep hunting down every scrap of information, it's going to be too complicated and no one's going to do anything.

- Gaiters spread particles more than not wearing a mask.
- Two masks will keep down leaks out the side.
- N95's are good, but you can only wear them once every 8 days, and after you use them 5 times you have to throw them away (Seriously, I know a woman that has a 28 bag system at her front door for managing her family's N95s).
- Does the vaccine stop transmission, or could you carry some small particles in your nose to blow out later and infect people even if those particles don't make you sick?
- Can I talk to someone for 15 minutes and then take a break, or is it 15 cumulative minutes over the course of a day?
- What if I get this vaccine? What if I get that vaccine? What if I mix them up? What if I waited 29 days? What if I only waited 2 weeks and 4 days?

Fuck all that. It's too much. Most people are going to throw up their arms and say, "fuck it, COVID's inevitable." Hi, verb!
And none of it matters if 2 out of every 5 people won't wear a mask.

4 words.

Mask up. Vax up.

End of message.

Where do you suppose the exhaled air goes when wearing a mask? Do you really think a piece of cloth is keeping anything other than large droplets from escaping? It's fucking idiocy.

And I agree gaiters are pointless but please explain to me how "WELL ACCCTUAAALLLEEY they are worse than just breathing"

I'm also fully dosed with Pfizer so basically none of this shit even applies to me anymore anyway. And no, fucking anthony Fauci isn't going to tell me to live in seclusion and ignore the common sense that of course I'm no longer shedding the virus in any meaningful way. Fuck that absolute clown.
