Swordfish is so great. I love having that one on vinyl.

Don't have Nighthawks yet. Can't seem to justify having that one before Heartattack and Vine, Bone Machine, Blue Valentine and Frank's Wild Years.

Nighthawks is great to have on in the background when you're doing just about anything; with all the banter, it's like there's someone else in the room with you.

I hate this story. The only thing that saves it is the bass. Have you heard the original?

Great record. I love the production on it too. Some funky little panning of sounds from left to right.

Red Shoes, Christmas Card, Romeo is bleeding, $29 and whistling past the graveyard are all fantastic.

I love it too. It's a startling ride after the albums that came before, and I would have loved to hear it upon release. Fun little Blue Valentine Fact: I have, to my best recollection, never put the album on my turntable without having a few drinks first and a fresh one in my hand.

I want to own this one on vinyl so much :( I feel as though I would be able to provide very similar fun facts.

Just go buy it at Sound Exchange. They always seem to have a copy.

I like it a lot, but I think that's due to it being the first Tom Waits album I heard. My dad had the record, and I used to listen to it all the time when I was like five years old. Scared the crap out of me at first, but eventually I starting getting a kick out of it.

A Sweet Little Bullet from a Pretty Blue Gun is a monster sleeper of a song. Never really heard it until the day I did, and I've been obsessed every since. That one crept up on me, tapped me on the shoulder, then hid from my view for far too long. It was a fun game for a while. But I'm glad the fucker finally revealed itself. We have a lot of fun together.

It was definitely one of the biggest revelations of the "LAL to the Waits albums" exercise for me.

That and "Rainbirds." What a nice little tune.

Well .... that and a pair of testicles...

I had a great LAL via Vinyl on Swordfish tonight...

That album just ends without any bang whatsoever. I really feel you have to listen to the trilogy to get any sense of satisfaction with this one. I fucking love a handful of tracks but overall it just wont do it for me.

However - Shore Leave is a top fucking Waits track for me....
