I was glad when I saw this. If he hung around for 3 more he might have made a run at Aarons RBI record. Miggys over 500 behind and the only other player in the top 100 thats still active. Yeah yeah, records are meant to be broken, just seems like Aaron should hold the RBI and Total Bases record forever after Bonds getting the HR record.

he was basically a 20+ homer, 80+ RBI, .245 hitter.
stick him at DH, market the hell out of getting to see a future hall of famer possibly break the RBI record, and a run at 700 HRs / Ruth? Someone might have taken a shot at it.

I thought expanded playoffs was a shoo-in. That was great last year.

Universal DH wasn't too bad but I can see them wanting to go back to normal this time around. But it probably will be implemented in the coming years.

I wanted to fool around with this a bit, so I looked for all the players who debuted five years prior to Pujols and 5 years after who had a 50+ career WAR:

1997 - Helton (61.8), Ortiz (55.3), Hunter (50.7)
1998 - Beltre (93.6), Beltran (70.1), and Halladay (64.2)
1999 - Tim Hudson (57.9) and Lance Berkamn (52)
2000 - Buehrle (59.1) and Johan Santana (51.7)
2001 - Pujols (100.7), Sabathia (62.5), Ichiro (59.7), and Roy Oswalt (50)
2002 - Highest was Cliff Lee (43.2)
2003 - Miggy (69.6), Utley (64.4), Teixeira (60.6)
2004 - Greinke (72.2), Mauer (55.3)
2005 - Verlander (71.8), Cano (69.1), Felix Hernandez (50.1)

It's not even really that close by this metric. I was surprised Beltre was next on the list, and I'm ride-or-die for him in the HOF, but Pujols is definitely above him.
