mostly with Peter Dinklage's part; I wanted him to fleece her for all she was worth but then they joined forces and I was disappointed
that did feel awkward too. Just not well written overall.. her acting and music, some editing and directing were probably its only redeeming qualities

I didn't hate it. I would say I was lukewarm about it. On the one hand it was original and strange and had some really interesting performances. On the other hand it was kind of like a two hour long fart joke. By the end it had worn itself out and ultimately never amounted to much. But I liked things about it and had fun while it was on.

I agree with this assessment. I thought of this because what you just said made me think that you might like movies just because they are weird.

I wouldn't say I like things just because they are weird. But I do often like weird things. Especially well made weird things. Weird is never a deterrent for me.

Maybe if it weren’t for the farting and they did something else instead you would’ve loved Swiss army man.. You might just have something against farting in general I gather

That movie sounds like Thank You For Smoking, so I might like it.

I heard the term "anti-morality tale" in reference to TYFS the other day and I'm all for it. What are some other good examples?

I agree with this

I liked the movie, it felt like a product of the early 2000s in a good way (its score and aesthetic choices, the super-saturated colors). But I agree that it felt muddled. The very end felt like a weird cop-out; I was getting stoked about it ending on such a downer, ruthlessly cynical note. The comeuppance felt like a "have my cake and eat it too" move by the filmmakers.
