Giant (weird, I loved it, man it's weird)
I saw in the 50/50 challenge thread you watched Giant.
It’s a great movie but what’s weird about it?
The character motivations. The way some things are over explained and others are just thrown out there and under developed. Some of the performance choices. Action beats. Etc.
I haven't watched Giant in ages though growing up I definitely made it a point to watch Dean's three films relatively often.
No idea when I'll get the time but I may have to sit down with Giant now knowing these two tidbits:

Stevens had a reputation as a meticulous film editor, and the film spent an entire year in the editing room.

I liked it enough, i had to see it in two times because it was loong but i liked the creative process and Billie´s persona. Really cool.
I'm really excited first this.
It made me more appreciate of their creative approach and the way they recorded the album. Also, you kinda forget how young she really is and how good and grounded she is at making the music, doing press, directing the videos.
Only a quarter of the way through (started it with lunch) but enjoying it a lot so far.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

After finishing off the Jack Irish series on Netflix - I discovered that there were three movies as well. Watched these and thought they were all pretty great. Loved Guy Pierce and am wondering how Aaron Pedersen isn't a bigger star

Finished this. Fucking loved it, Mendonça Filho is so brilliant.
