You can't fire or discipline an employee before they are actually charged with a crime. This is not hard.

that could mean a number of things...neither of us know the details of this, i'm guessing...but either way my point is a person can be put on paid admin leave before a crime is charged since generally that's not considered firing or discipliningverb_to_trust wrote:For being a "person of interest"?lennytheweedwhacker wrote:paid admin leave pending investigation?verb_to_trust wrote:You can't fire or discipline an employee before they are actually charged with a crime. Yeah maybe. I just don't like the whole jumping to conclusions thing. In Illinois you can make anonymous complaints against cops now. So do you just put a cop on leave every time some disgruntled citizen tries to get revenge via the complaint line?lennytheweedwhacker wrote:that could mean a number of things...neither of us know the details of this, i'm guessing...but either way my point is a person can be put on paid admin leave before a crime is charged since generally that's not considered firing or discipliningverb_to_trust wrote:For being a "person of interest"?lennytheweedwhacker wrote:paid admin leave pending investigation?verb_to_trust wrote:You can't fire or discipline an employee before they are actually charged with a crime. Investigations can take years. Think about the backlog on rape kits.

Minneapolis on edge as the first officer charged in killing of George Floyd goes on trial

Minneapolis on edge as the first officer charged in killing of George Floyd goes on trial
Community activists are concerned that the city is not ready. Michelle Gross, founder of the local nonprofit Communities United Against Police Brutality, said city officials have not contacted her group about preparations for the trial and focused instead on fortifying downtown.
“They are more afraid of the community than they are of police violence,” Gross said.

Minneapolis gave Floyd 27 million. Honestly, if I knew my loved ones would get that kind of payout I would gladly let a cop murder me.

Yeah but verb is pretty open about how he yearns for death so I dunno if that counts, more like a "we've already established what you are, now we're just haggling over the price" situation.
