A daughter leaving home to marry (or whatever reason) is just as dramatic as a wife leaving. I can see how someone would interpret the song as Eddie leaving (by his death) his daughters into the arms of another man to keep them safe.Birds in Hell wrote:It's not my plan to send you in the arms of another manQuadrophenia wrote:I think it's a fantastic song. Yeah, that'd be a bit weird if so. Probably not, then.
Do you have daughters? One of your biggest worries if you die is shit she's gonna find a man to fill the void? Or to keep them safe cause they can't fend for themselves? And what kind of boyfriend is this that he's filling the position of both boyfriend and father? I'll tell you what, a creepy one.
Not to mention I think his kids are well kids, as in fairly young.
The oooonly way that line could make sense in context with his kids was if it was about him being worried about his wife leaving him marrying another dude and that guy becoming a father to his kids or something. But that would be weirdly possessive and a strange way to word it also. Either that or ed is a creepy asshole.

The more I listen to this song, the more contemporary ballad aspects come to the fore. And yet, I keep listening.

This is actually the Lbolt song I've been listening to the most these past few days. The new mark lanegan album will help me spend a bit less time with lbolt before the official release. I am starting to want to cut back and wait for the high quality release.

I'm listening to this a lot too. Then SW and sometimes Getaway. The others not at all.
Too many new albums around at the moment with Arctic Monkeys, Lanegan, Mazzy Star, NIN, Vista Chino, Pixies ep.

Well I have these in a playlist, so I listen to them all at the same and just don't feel the need to turn it off at the weak spot (LTRP). But that's OK, it's immediately more enjoyable than Supersonic and that's what I wanted at the beginning.

Man, I really wish the guitars didn't completely drop out on the "I didn't care before you were here" section.

MFS is going to have to do *a lot* to reduce the cheesy impact of this song so soon after MYM.

keep in mind there was also the tiny toons theme song on, so it may have seemed more fun than it actually is.
