The live versions were good but the entire show was too stilted and leaned a tad too far into performance art. It was off-putting to some and I totally get that.

I thought it was fascinating and I enjoyed it while I was in the room but coming off of the S/T tour it did feel cold and overly deliberate. A great one off experience but no real blood and I never found myself craving those versions. I never got in YouTube and spent hours watching those live versions like I did for the previous records.

The album versions have so much more heft and metabolism. Maybe in a vacuum that's hard to hear but in comparison to the live show It's more apparent. It's such a strong record.

I imagine the Young Americans era Bowie will end up being all over the album though. And I'm fucking here for it!

I like the track, it could be a grower.

The song takes notes from many 70s tracks in a way that feels similar to what Beck did on 'Midnite Vultures'..

Completely aside from that. Honestly didn’t even notice til now. But I only listened to it once. That was my immediate comparison.

Im loving it with each listen, and of course, it made listen to her again on daily basis....Masseduction is just so fucking good. But i also came back to my first St Vincent album, Strange Mercy. What a masterpiece.

Strange Mercy is still one of my favorite albums of the last 10 years -- it's weird to think it's almost too old to be able to say that about!

The album is cementing itself among my favorites of all time. It always feels new to me, like a discovery, every time I listen to it.

This new record could well end up being a spiritual cousin to Strange Mercy.
