I in no way think it is a better song, but I am pretty charmed by that performance of Hunted Down, and I'll give it my vote over a middle tier pearl jam song I probably only listen to during March Madness or a LAL thread.

I love You Are, but im voting for Hunted Down. Amazing cover...Matt´s reworked drums are tasty...and Mr Stone Gossard ladies and gentleman.

Hunted Down was a good cover. You Are in an excellent Pearl Jam song so I go with the latter.

Covers are useless. It doesn't matter how good the cover is.

I guess I'm not the PJ fan I thought I was. Wasn't even aware of this Hunted Down cover. Pretty cool. Love Stone.

You Are still gets the vote.

I love Ed's vocals on You Are. It gets my vote, but Hunted Down is a good cover.

What about when the original song is shit?
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

covers that sound least like the original are the most useful

Voted for You Are. This was the second or third song I heard off of Riot Act (I heard Save You early on, not sure if I heard I Am Mine before You Are) and being struck by how different it felt at the time. It definitely piqued my interest then, even if I don't go to it as often anymore. But it gets my vote for the initial memory.

It gets my vote because of how it f*ing goes

P.S. why do you hear riot act songs in such weird order ?

If I'm remembering correctly (and I may not be), they were on K-Rock in NYC and previewed the album a little. I believe that's how I heard both Save You and You Are that day. So really it's the band's fault.
