Easy vote for Save You. In Hiding remains, quite possibly, the studio anthem I like the least. The pre-chorus is good, but the riff is ehh and the subject matter just feels really immature. By Yield he should have worked this out of his system. The ideas he is grappling with are captured so much more effectively on Vitalogy and No Code (and even elsewhere on Yield). Save You is a welcome burst of weary and aggrieved passion, and the final vocal scream is probably my favorite part of the album other than the I Am Mine outro solo

I adore In Hiding so much. One of my favorites. Save You is a good song but it's out of it's league here.
Easy vote for In Hiding.

I don’t care. Both good songs that I basically never seek out. Voted In Hiding because of SVT.

I love both of these songs. This round has some good matchups.

Once upon a time, I would’ve voted In Hiding with no hesitation. It hasn’t aged very well for me. I’m gonna go with Save You.

Re: 23. Save You vs. In Hiding
Years ago, this would have been an easy vote for In Hiding, but I'm no longer sure. Not because In Hiding has faltered, but Save You has risen far higher in my estimation. I think I'm going to stick with In Hiding for now, but could revisit it.

Re: 23. Save You vs. In Hiding
I like the chord progression of In Hiding. It is another great example of how Stone uses small variations around the same melody in his use of different chord voicings. I like the falsetto in the chorus from Vedder. The sentiment of the song made much more sense to me as a young man than it does now - it actually comes across as a bit entitled and corny as an older man. (Plus any attempt by me to go ‘In Hiding’ now would end ‘In Divorce’ and ‘In Unemployment’.)
I love the raw recording they got of Save You on Riot Act, and I like that they decided to stick with it. I have read in interviews that there were a few first or second takes of songs that made it onto this album and Save You definitely seems to be one of those. Matt’s drumming is great on the outro, Mike’s riff shreds and Eddie’s vocal yowls are visceral and with the right amount of desperation. About the only thing I don’t like is the use of lyrics from another song (Go) which is sort of a pet peeve for me about this album.

Re: 23. Save You vs. In Hiding
Two great ones once again. Almost a pure coin flip for me, but In Hiding is such a great experience at a show. And just a few nights ago I was listening to the Spectrum boot where Ed says he's never heard a crowd sing that song quite so loud, which is always how it feels when I'm present for it.
Two great studio tracks, but In Hiding packs an extra punch in a live setting.
