I prefer Wendy and Lucy to Meek's Cutoff, but I still thought it was an OK movie. I don't really remember it too well, which isn't a very good sign.
La Haine was great, I think I'm going to re-watch that one actually.

I didnt liked the photography at all, too clean, top sharp you could see the digital in most of the action sequences...it took me out of the story a few
times...kinda like the michael mann movie work johnny
Depp.
Good use of violence here, overall a flawed but fun pulp movie ...

Cut the shit and get down to business, how was the great Gosling?
he was ok..his voice a little weird...but the main interest is fucking josh brolin, he is a such a great actor...and robert patrick ...and yeah sean penn is ok too.

La Haine is one of the greatest movies ever made as far as I'm concerned.

Flight.

Good Movie..Robert Zemeckis is one of my favorites directors of all time and he sure is overlooked. The man has amazing movies and even if this is a good one and not a classic, it has its moments.
The plane crash scene is awesome, the hotel room scene is awesome ( the sound design of that scene might be the best one i see since Bane/Batman´s fight)...what a great story about addictions with a huge mcguffin like the airplane crash.
How is that Denzel Washington is not nominated to best actor? he is incredible here.

Deadfall

Really thought this was a gem...
I was a little skeptical because I thought every movie Olivia Wilde would be in would suck balls. She did well.

Yesterday, I saw Edge of the City, starring a young Sydney Poitier and John Cassavettes. It was really great. It was directed by a guy named Martin Ritt, who would later direct another great movie, Hud. I'm going to look into his other movies, this guy may be an underrated gem.

I love Poitier's command of the screen. Where do you see these movies? Netflix? TCM? I usually rely on youtube and TCM. Of course the theater experience is wholly different. I wish I could watch every movie on the big screen.

I've recently started recording stuff off TCM. I end up deleting about half as much as I watch, but I've seen some good stuff on the channel. I recorded Sabotage last night.
I also use Netflix instant a lot, and I rent library DVDs. I go to the movies a couple times a month, oftentimes by myself to a matinee.

Okay.

Btw, this Martin Ritt fellow directed Sounder (1972) and Norma Rae (1979), the latter leading to Sally Field's first Oscar win. Both decent movies. He seems to be heavily involved in social & political action movies.

Silver Linings Playbook.

It was ok...oscar material? nope. Its just a nice romantic comedy, and there is not a single new thing in the direction or the acting...both of them are ok, but nominated for best actor and actress?? i dont think so.
De Niro was ok.
